When in Rome…

Yup it’s official, I’m going to Italy next July and I’m super stoke! 2 weeks in the magnificent Tuscany region. 2 weeks of eating too much good food and discovering a region that has so much Unesco World Heritage Sites.
To be able t capture all this beauty I will of course bring “The beast” (My Nikon D700 DSLR) so I’m also starting to plan what my my camera bag will look like. I Don’t want to bring all my gear and be stuck to carry a super heavy bag around, so I’m planing on brining:
- Batteries + charger (not bringing the MB-D10 battery grip, too heavy)
-Memory cards
- Cleaning kit
All that in my new Think Tank Urban Disguise 50
I I would have loved to carry only one all around lens but I really want to take some night shots and the 2.8 aperture will come handy for sure. An option I was considering was to rent the new 24-120mm f/4G ED VR for FX body. This lens is small, light, has a constant F4 aperture and would give me a really good range of focal lengths, from wide to tele, without having to change lens around.
I want to know what are you taking with you when you travel and what tips you have when it comes to carrying your photo gear all around the world?

Les médias deviennent non traditionnels, les médiums aussi!
Tous ceux qui suivent mon fil Twitter ou ce blog connaissent ma passion pour tout ce qui est non traditionnel. J’affectionne particulièrement le domaine des médias et de la pub, mais on oublie souvent qu’il n’y a pas que les médias qui empruntent une voie de moins en moins trad, c’est aussi le cas des médiums.
On a qu’à penser qu’à l’arrivée encore toute chaude de la vidéo sur les caméras numériques de type réflex. Comme dans le monde des médias, ou de nouveaux modèles de diffusion font leur apparition depuis quelques temps déjà, les outils permettant de capturer de l’information visuelle subissent de profonds changements. En ce sens, j’ai été soufflé par la qualité des films, des pubs et des reportages entièrement “tournés” avec des D90/D300 de Nikon. Les exemples qui suivent illustrent mes propos et vous font pénétrer dans une nouvelle ère de possibilités qu’offrent une cette gamme d’appareils “convergeant” performants et économiques. Cela me donne le goût, en tant que photographe amateur de toucher à “l’autre forme d’art” jusqu’ici inaccessible pour moi. À suivre!
